About CNC Farms

Our Story

CNC Farms was founded by third generation beekeeper, Eddie Collins. Eddie grew up around bees, but did not like them much. When he discovered his father-in-law was pollinating his garden with Q-tips, he decided to get back into bees. Those two hives grew into hundreds while he worked alongside migratory beekeepers. He eventually became one himself. He named his business after his two daughters, whose initials were both CNC. Connie, his eldest daughter and fourth generation beekeeper, now runs the day to day operations and grafts the queens.

Our Mission

Our mission at CNC Farms is to promote sustainable beekeeping practices and educate the public about the importance of bees. When we sell you a hive, we will work with you so you feel confident with your bees. We believe we can help protect these vital pollinators and ensure the health of our planet for generations to come by working together.

In Remembrance

James EArl Collins

In Loving Memory

This season, we are deeply saddened to share the loss of a beloved father and grandfather. James was Eddie’s dad and Connie’s grandfather — the second generation of beekeeper in our family. He usually kept  one to ten hives at a time, and he passed down his love of beekeeping to both Eddie and Connie, a legacy that continues to shape our lives today.

James was a proud veteran who served with honor in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force, where he had a long and distinguished career. He was born on January 15, 1941, in Detroit, Texas, and was known for his quiet strength, deep faith, and love of the outdoors. He found joy in beekeeping, fishing, and hunting. James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Collins, and they are now reunited forever.

We dedicate this season to you, James.

Personal Note from Connie:

This picture was signed by my grandfather to my grandmother. It reads:
"To Shirley, with all my love."

I was blessed to inherit many of his photos, including beautiful beekeeping pictures that I’ll share further down the page. He loved taking pictures and videos — thanks to him, much of my early childhood was captured and preserved.

I must say, James was quite the cutie back in his day! I can certainly see why Granny fell for him. 🙂
